Horse Takes Over Times Square

Here's an older shot of Times Square that I took. I was walking back to the train after a night out and noticed this horse and buggy alone in the middle with virtually no traffic around so I grabbed my camera out of my bag and snapped this shot. I was using a film camera at the time which was converted to a digital file in the processing lab. I thought it was a strange spot to be feeding his horse. Guess the year? Answer at the bottom:
